Evaluation of performance is a continuous process. To be recommended for the award of the diploma, candidates are required to achieve a prescribed standard in the total course work, including both internal assessment and final written examination.
 
The grades*, grade points and equivalent percentages are as follows:

Award of Diploma
The following are the requirements for passing the examination and award of the Diploma:
Attendance:
Every student is normally expected to maintain full attendance in the classes as well as during field placements (not less than 75% attendance in each course). No unauthorized absence from field placement is permitted. Upto 25% absence is allowed with the prior permission of the course coordinator for unavoidable circumstances.
 
Examination:
The evaluation of a student’s performance in a course will be judged on a continuous basis. Every course carries a maximum of 100 marks. The internal assessment includes assignments and class participation, whereas the final exam is a written exam. To clear a course every student has to score a minimum of 50% marks in both the internal assessment and the final exams separately. For further details please consult academic guidelines.
 
Summer Training:
Summer training is an integral part of the programme. Students are assessed on the basis of their performance during this period.
Dissertation:
The student will be required to complete a satisfactory thesis in his/her area of interest.
