.:: PROGRAMME STRUCTURE ::.


Course Structure   Programme has been designed on Semester system.  There will be four semesters spreading over the whole period of two years, with two semesters in each year. Each Semester will be equivalent to one Term. Each term will have approx. 7 courses. Term 1 and Term 2 in the first year consists of Core Courses (CC). Before starting the Core Courses, the students will attend Induction Courses (Non graded courses). The Induction and as well as Term I & II  courses are compulsory for every student. In the second year, specialized Courses in Hospital Management (HOM), Health Management (HEM) and Healthcare IT (HIT) will be offered.   
 
FIRST YEAR

During the first year, the programme aims at cultivating multi-disciplinary skills of health systems, management principles and communication which are common to all the streams. The students will be offered Induction Courses and Core Courses.

Summer Training

Summer training is an integral part of the programme. The students are placed for eight weeks in various designated hospitals and healthcare organizations in the country and abroad for practical exposure and hands-on training. They are assessed on the basis of their performance during this period.

SECOND YEAR

In the second year, the students will be allotted Hospital Management, Health Management or Healthcare IT stream based on preference given in application form for admission and merit of First year. The following specialized courses are offered in the respective streams:

RESEARCH WORK AND DISSERTATION      

The student will be required to complete a satisfactory thesis in his/her area of interest.  The thesis must be approved by two faculty members in addition to Thesis Advisor.  Thesis will include critical review of literature pertaining to specific area of interest, data collection and analysis of the selected problem besides other components of the thesis.  The thesis must be completed in the second year.
